Landscape Sales Consultant / Project Manager (Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch) JOB DESCRIPTION

Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch is looking for a highly organized, friendly and outgoing sales consultant to help grow the installation business of Mr. Mulch, Inc.

Who we are...Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch is one of the best and most respected installers of outdoor living spaces in Central Ohio. We pride ourselves on taking care of a vast array of services our clients need. This includes building patio and retaining walls with natural stone as well as man-made concrete products. We can finish the space with beautiful planting as well as landscape accent lighting. If clients want to expand the space even more, we build custom outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, and fire pits. We even do carpentry work such as pergolas, pavilions, decks, and fences. We never turn away smaller projects like sod, mulch, and river rock maintenance projects although we do have a $500.00 minimum. Some of our larger projects are well above $100,000.00, so we take care of the many needs of our clients. We are serious about our clients, but our team members are the source of our strength. We attribute our success to the hard work and dedication of our team of talented employees.

As a Sales Consultant for Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch you must be highly driven and self-motivated to achieve individually. You must also be highly organized and able to maintain a very busy and hectic schedule. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.

Qualified applicants should be able to contact lead immediately, set appointments within a couple days, listen to customer needs and wants, provide quotation within 24 hours or design within days, follow-up as needed with client questions, close sale, collect deposit, and manage the construction by communicating with installers and client. Applicants must also be friendly, outgoing, aggressive, independant, computer and social media savvy is a plus.

Landscape installation sales can be seven days a week with many early and late days. Applicants should be
available at 99% of the hours for clients and installer questions and needs. This is a seasonal business where many projects are done when the weather is workable, plan on many hours in the spring and summer with reduced hours in the fall and limited hours in the winter. There is no set schedule to the work week but there is an expectation that you will have office hours to answer walk-in customer questions. You will set these hours based on the highest number of walk-in customers.

This is a contract position (Independent Contractor - 1099) with compensation that is completely commission based at 25% of the gross profit of the job. There is a draw of $1000.00 per week that will be reconciled at the end of the first anniversary of employment and yearly after that. We will not ask for any money back if the sales consultant does not meet the draw after one year. The estimated compensation based on annual sales goal for first year team members is $52,000.00. If you have extensive experience in the industry and you hussle, first year team members have earned $95,000 plus. So compensation ranges from $52,000 to $95,000 annually.

QUOTE, DESIGN, & SELL INSTALLATION PROJECTS
*Approximately 50% of time, resources, and energy of sales consultant will be spent in this area
*Respond to leads that are generated the same business day the lead is generated, immediate response is preferred. This is done via phone call, text, and phone call to arrange a time to meet at the jobsite within the next few days. This is expected to be done quickly and with ease.
*Gather client contact information on each and every interaction with client if needed. This includes on-line chats, phone calls, and in person contacts.
*Appointments must be set in Google Calendar or similar software platform that company uses.
*Be an expert in the estimation, design, and sales of patio and retaining wall by concrete stone & natural stone, fireplaces, fire pits, pergolas, pavilions, decks, and fences, river rock, stone, topsoil, mulch, and sod. We have set prices on all projects, but projects rarely fit perfectly in that box. Must be able to recognize additional items needed that adjust the selling prices such as elevation changes, difficulty accessing job, etc.
*Understand our company’s as well as our competition, know the strengths and weaknesses of each. Then, communicate this to our clients as needed to promote our business.
*Provide hard quotations in our all-in-one business software (Odoo) after each appointment within 24 hours.
*Provide a design if needed to clients. This must be a professional design with software or by hand. If you are unable to do this, you must have it done if necessary and any fees for this service is paid for by you the sales consultant.
*Appreciate gross profit for the company and remove price as an objection at the same time deciding when it is necessary to offer competitive pricing or extra services for discounted price when necessary.
* If sale does not close immediately, continuous follow-up and management of pipeline is required in Odoo.
*“Always Be Closing” is our philosophy, but we are not high pressure. We listen to our clients needs, offer a custom solution, and follow up with clients until a quotation is closed for a sale or sale is lost. Our sale close percentage is 35 percent.

MANAGE INSTALLATION OF PROJECT
*Approximately 40% of time, resources, and energy of sales consultant will be spent in this area
*Be or become an expert of managing the installation project.
*Collect initial deposit from client when contract is signed.
*Contact pre-approved installers, ensure contracts are signed with installers for each project, pre construction meeting with installers to review project, and inform Accounting what to pay installer via contract,
*Purchase products as needed from Mr. Mulch and other vendors and ensure prices are correct. Arrange for pick up or delivery. Work with team at Mr. Mulch to ensure installers are following policy and procedures of Landscape Supply.
*Get necessary permits and approval from HOA or local municipality.
*Be at a jobsite the first day when material is delivered. Instruct driver as needed. Discuss with the installer the project that first day as well as the homeowner. Collect progress payment from client.
*Answer all communications of installer and homeowner during installation of project.
*Ensure any excess product is picked up or returned. Confirm credit is given to your project when material is returned.
*Meet with clients at the end of the project and ensure all is completed and they are 100% happy. Collect final payment at that time.

MARKET & PROMOTE COMPANY
*Approximately 8% of time, resources, and energy of sales consultant will be spent in this area
*Generate leads by dropping off literature on each job to approximately 20 neighbors.
*Ensure yard signs are installed on each project on the first day. Leave for the client to remove when they want. Ask if it can stay up for two weeks after the job is completed.
*Ensure all installers are wearing company branded shirts and jackets.
*Send follow-up email to ensure client is 100% satisfied, ask for positive review on-line.
*Use social media management platforms such as TweekDeck, HootSuite, or Buffer to schedule posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+, Youtube, Linkedin, Snapchat & Pinterest platforms daily to weekly depending on the time of year.
*Create content for email marketing campaigns. Mass emails to be done once a week.
*Support Mr. Mulch Landscape Supply by leading up to 6 DIY seminars.

OTHER DUTIES
*Approximately 2% of time, resources, and energy of sales consultant will be spent in this area
*At times, there are other duties and requests that need to be done. This is very rare but it does happen.

 

 

Retail Sales Consultant (The Outdoor Living Store) JOB DESCRIPTION

The Outdoor Living Store is looking for a friendly and outgoing sales professional to help grow the patio furniture, BBQ grill, and fire feature business as well as support our other associated businesses/departments.

The new sales associate will work in both a beautiful log cabin and a fun outdoor living environment with another team member and by themselves.

As a Sales Consultant for The Outdoor Living Store you must be highly driven and self-motivated to achieve individually while being a supportive team member as you contribute to overall store success and customer satisfaction. You must also be highly organized and able to maintain a responsive follow-up schedule. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.

Qualified applicants should be able to sell our products, support other departments, market & promote, maintain facilities. Applicants must also be friendly, outgoing, aggressive, independant, computer and social media savvy.
Store is open seven days a week with evening hours, applicants should be available at 99% of the hours the store is open. Estimated hours range from 20 hours in the winter to 50 hours in the spring, on average expect to work on average of 40 hours per week annualized.

This is a full time position with many benefits that include hourly compensation, a sales commission, and bonuses. Based on the standard sales goal of first year team members, the estimated yearly compensation is $65,000.00.

SELL OUTDOOR LIVING STORE PRODUCTS
*Approximately 50% of time, resources, and energy of sales consultant will be spent in this area
*Greet each client in a happy and excited manner on the phone, online chat, and in person. This is expected to be done quickly and with ease.
*Become an expert in patio furniture & umbrellas (11 product manufactures), BBQ grills (10 product lines), and fire features (4 product lines). Take this expertise and be able to communicate the benefits as well as features of each product as well as the added peace of mind for product insurance.
*Gather client contact information on each and every interaction with client. This includes on-line chats, phone calls, and in person contacts.
*Understand our company’s as well as our competition, know the strengths and weaknesses of each. Then, communicate this to our clients as needed to promote our business.
*Provide hard quotations in our all-in-one business software (Odoo) on all interactions with clients when possible.
*Follow up the following day to close sale of quotations. If sale does not close, continuous follow-up and management of pipeline is required in Odoo.

SUPPORT OTHER DEPARTMENTS (MR. MULCH & OUTDOOR LIVING BY MR. MULCH)
*Approximately 20% of time, resources, and energy of sales consultant will be spent in this area
*Become knowledgeable in landscape products. This will be used to help support Mr. Mulch Landscape Supply by answering phone and processing quotations/orders. This product knowledge features, benefits, and calculations for mulch, topsoil & compost, natural landscape stone, concrete landscape stone, sands & sealers, seed & sod, and firewood.
*Become knowledgeable with installing patios & walls, pergolas & pavilions, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces & fire pits, planting & mulching, topsoil & stone, and fences & decks. This will be used to help generate leads for our installation company by communicating our services to clients that interact with our business.
*Gather leads for Mr. Mulch and Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch and enter all contact information where appropriate.

MARKET & PROMOTE COMPANY
*Approximately 20% of time, resources, and energy of sales consultant will be spent in this area
*Use social media management platforms such as TweekDeck, HootSuite, or Buffer to schedule posts on Facebook, Instragram, Twitter, Google+, Youtube, Linkedin, Snapchat & Pinterest platforms daily to weekly depending on the time of year.
*Create content for email marketing campaigns. Mass emails to be done once a week.
*Promote & sign up clients for grilling classes.
*Lead grilling classes by creating content of class including purchasing items.
*Generate leads by contacting hotels & other businesses that would use our products.


MAINTAIN FACILITIES
*Approximately 10% of time, resources, and energy of sales consultant will be spent in this area
*Perform daily tasks that include opening & closing the store. This includes cleaning, organizing, sweeping, waste removal, straightening furniture, clean stainless steel grills, and other tasks necessary to maintain a professional presentation to our clients.
*Rearrange current furniture or new furniture as requested or needed. We do sell floor models and adjust our products weekly as well as receive new products.
*Place price and product information on product as needed.

 

Customer Service Representative (Mr. Mulch Landscape Supply)

We utilize a new ERP system that includes POS, Sales, Live Chat, CRM, etc. We also use Google platform and other cloud-based applications. We are looking for tech savy team members that will provide the absolute best customer service to ensure our we maintain a high customer retention rate.

Yard Worker (Mr. Mulch Landscape Supply)

Great opportunity in a fast-paced and fun environment! You will be loading customers by hand or by a forklift and Bobcat. Postive ATTITUDE is REQUIRED. Must love life and work hard while taking care of our customers. You will receive, store, and load inventory at our landscape supply yard/warehouse. Operations Clerk will make sure that facility is in clean order, equipment properly maintained and used, and help perform inventory cycle counts.
