Return Policy

Returns
All returns must be done within 30 days, except for sod, which must be returned within one business day. Only our products are permitted to be returned and must be in Resalable Condition. All returned products must be inspected and approved by trained and authorized personnel only. There are no returns for credit on bulk products. If the customer requests that Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch pick up the product to be returned, a Delivery Fee will be charged. The following items cannot be returned for credit:

  • Special Order Items
  • All Bulk Products
  • Cut-to-Order Products (includes, but is not limited to pond liners, underlayment, splice tape, and tubing)
  • Cutting fees
  • Pond Plants
  • Delivery Fees
  • Engravings and Engraving Fees
  • Used Inventory Items (includes, but is not limited to railroad ties, rental equipment, clay bricks, etc.)
  • Equipment Rental Fees
  • Discontinued Products
  • Unilock Pallets with any runner damage or excessive slat damage.
  • Seasonal Items (includes, but is not limited to straw, firewood, and salt).

Due to the unique nature of natural stone, all returns of natural stone are subject to management approval.

Returns with Original Receipt or Sales History:
With an Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch receipt or sales history, the customer is entitled to a refund at the original purchased price of the product and will be charged any Return Fees, if applicable. Monies refunded will be issued in the same form as the purchase. If payment was originally received by Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch in the form of a check, a Return Check will be issued and mailed within 14 days of the return of the product

A Return Fee of 17% applies to all returns totaling $50.00 or more (except for exempt products). The first $25.00 of a return is free of charge. The customer will be charged 17% of the total dollar amount of the return minus the first $25.00. Return Fees do not apply to pallets, pond supplies, tools, paver accessories, rolls of underlayment fabric, or grass seed. Revers-a-cap is never permitted to be returned if split.

Altered/Opened Products
Any and all altered or opened products are subject to an Opened Box/Altered Product Fee. If opened or altered product is permitted to be returned by authorized personnel, all original packaging, instructions, and parts must remain intact and functional.

Opened Box/Altered Product Fees per product are as follows:

  • Bags: 15% of original selling price.
  • Unilock Pavers and Wallstone: 20% of original selling price.
  • Natural Stone: 15% of original selling price.
  • Accessories: 10% of original selling price.
  • Pond Supplies: 15% of original selling price.
  • Other (includes statuary): 10% of original selling price.
  • These fees are applied in addition to the 17% Return Fee.

Returns with No Original Receipt or Sales History
Customers without an original receipt or a sales history specifically for the product to be returned, may receive store credit equal to the lowest possible selling price set for the particular product from the current calendar year. The customer will be charged a Return Fee, if applicable. Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch reserves the right to refuse the return of any product without proper receipt or proof of purchase from Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch. Customers who return undamaged Unilock pallets without a sales history or receipt will be credited $8.00 per pallet.

Customer Requested Pick-Up Returns
All products requested by the customer to be picked up by Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch must be ready for pick up prior to our arrival. All products must be easily accessible by our loading machines and trucks. All products must be condensed and separated by product, placed on pallets, and shrink-wrapped if possible. Products not ready at time of arrival will be subject to a minimum labor fee of $45.00 per hour with a minimum charge of $25.00.

Returns of Bulk Product
There are no returns for credit on bulk products; however, in certain instances, Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch will agree to pick up excess bulk product for a set fee (see Bulk Loading Fee below). The Bulk Loading Fee will be charged in addition to the regular Delivery Fee for the repective zip code and is as follows:

  • $75.00 for < 3 tons or yards picked up.
  • $100.00 for 3+ tons or yards picked up.

Definitions

Returnable Products: Those materials and products qualified and permitted to be returned and placed back into Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch's inventory by authorized personnel. All returnable products must be in resalable condition.

Resalable Condition: Product deemed acceptable to resell by management because the product (as separate from the packaging) is (1) our product and (2) is in a usable condition that can be sold again. This includes: bags or boxes that may have been opened with product that has not been used, concrete wall stone that may have been split properly, and natural stone that may not be in the same consistency or quality as purchased.

Return Fee: Fee charged when product to be returned totals $25.00 or more. This fee is equal to 17% of the total dollar amount of the return minus the first $25.00, which is free. A Return Fee applies to all:

  • Bagged products
  • Pre-fabricated concrete products
  • Statuary (non-special order)
  • Natural stone
  • Lumber products

Bulk Loading Fee: Fee charged when a customer requests that Outdoor Living by Mr. Mulch travel to a remote site to load bulk products into our trucks, whether by hand or by machine. Note: There are no returns for credit on bulk products.

Return Check: Check issued to a customer to whom we owe a credit. Lowest Possible Selling Price Set price a customer who does not have a sales receipt or sales history receives for product he or she is attempting to return.

Open Box/Altered Product Fee: Fee charged when a product is returned in a different state than when it was purchased.
